Questions about getting married in geneva, visa d and work permit

Hello everyone

I am a non EU citizen and I applied for d visa in June to get married with my financee in geneva , i have read most of the threads here about the visa.

My question will be when I get d visa to enter to switzerland to get married, is that visa will be single entry or multiply entry??

Very important for me as I will have to visit my country once in a while even if I am in geneva with visa d waiting for b permit??

And when you apply for b permit in geneva, do they take your passport for a while that prevents me to travel back to my country while waiting for work permit in geneva?

It has been 6 months since I applied for visa d by the way, getting depressive

I would be really happy if you can answer there 2 questions. Thank you

The Type D visa will only be issued if your permit is approved. Once that happens you’ll have to send/take your passport to the Swiss embassy/consulate to have the visa stamped in it. You’ll then have a certain period of time to make the move.

Once you have your permit you’re okay to travel. No need for visas after that.

But please recognize that with covid, and in particular the latest varient, the normal Swiss Bureaucracy is working at a snails’s pace.

Don’t be dismayed if things take longer than you hope.
