I did a few searches and couldn't find the answer to this specific scenario, perhaps someone has some insights before I ask my RAV/chomage advisor and perhaps trigger some unwanted red flags...
I am currently on RAV/chomage, with the usual job search obligations to receive my payment
For various reasons, we have decided to leave Switzerland around the end of March to a non-EU country
My new residence permit would not allow me to sign on for unemployment there, so I am not able to initiate the 3 months benefits transfer process
The question is, if I tell my advisor this, am I likely to be freed up from filing the monthly job search obligations from now til then - but still get paid? Any advice on how to achieve this, my time would be better spent decluttering/packing the house up etc...
My guess is no, you’d still need to apply for jobs just the same. RAV’s task is to get you back into work and who knows, you might be offered your dream job and change your plans.
I am confused here. Are you saying you have been collecting RAV money since March, from a non EU country, without RAV being aware of this and with no meetings with your RAV advisor?
Nope. You can only collect RAV if actively searching for jobs. My husband was on RAV and got a job offer for starting in a few months time, and we was still obligated by RAV to continue to search and apply for short contract jobs he might have been able to do in the interim. It was absurd, as the chances of him finding a 6-week contract anywhere were basically nil, but that's what the RAV office wanted.
I suspect not. According to this link, which explains the new rules governing social security between Switzerland and the UK (only German/French I'm afraid):
