IIRC one of the biggest points made about TeraPak is that is can be recycled.
Until recently, the local recycling centre had a separate "free" bin for this, but this changed just before the New Year and is now "burnable" waste (i.e. normal bin).
Did legislation (maybe too strong a word) change recently?
the 20.-/month is totally worth it... it includes things like batteries, cans, glass, all sorts of plastic etc. ...the other time i chucked my old kettle in it. Honestly for convenience, and the fact that it saves me all those trips to the recycling place, ill gladly spend 20.-/month
I was wondering about that too (what 22yards said). As I can chuck all kinds of metals, foils etc. etc. into the same bin at Maag (Winterthur ZH) even when the guy stands behind me and watches me. By the guy I mean the one in charge and ready to jump down my throat. Which he never did so far.
Me neither, I seem to remember some also sold cream in them, coffee cream to be precise. When I think of chocolate milk in tetraeders Comella springs up immediately, as if it's synonymous.
Just discovered at my local shop, after 3 years Aldi Swiss has stopped collecting and recycling tetrapak and others beverage cartons. Apparently they were recycling 70% packages coming from competitors stores. I must admit I've been part of the problem, recycling cartons from Coop and even from French supermarkets. So, from now on, everything to the Basel incinerator!
Here's a website of an organisation trying to promote recycling of "drinks boxes" (literal translation). It includes a map showing where one can deposit tetrapak.
