I found that in Switzerland (at least in Bern canton), in many cases while we search and apply flats to rent, the application form always asking the references from previous / current landlord (e.g. name, phone. etc.) and then, it happened to me that the flat admin is already very interested to rent flat to me, but the one last missing is they want to call my current landlord to get some reference about me. Then it's getting blocked.
Why? Since it's not so long time i moved to CH, and i only have one landlord who is a private flat owner and I just live here as a visitor (it's my first flat after moving into CH from another EU country, and of course I paid all the rent as well and nothing unpaid in term of expenses). However, the current landlord is very willing me to continue living here (reasons are obvious such as payment always in time, a clean person, no party, no noise, all good in behaviors, and also having normal working life routines), and we also communicated about my willingness of moving out, and he agrees as well to have his phone number written in my application form (although i know he's not happy about my moving out). But then, the problem is that, while the agency is trying to reach him out by phone, it's very hard. Then, my application has to be given up. (They even call me saying that the landlord is not able to reach)
Is there some other way around to solve this problem? is there any cases where applying a flat renting can be easier in this step? (i mean, i have all documents or bank transfer records to show my behavior. But if it is just due to one single step, i am all get stuck. Also I am aware that there're quite a lot of legal ways such as certain associations to support tenant right, however, if things can be solved in an easier way, that would be great, e.g. if some flat agency which is good enough to have this particular step more flexible)
