Hardest thing after training would be getting your first few gigs (just sign up for all the agencies anywhere and take pretty much anything) but after that you'd be golden.
Cloud data engineer/analyst, devOps. There's tons of free training videos around and for a small fee you can buy your own 'bit of a cloud' to play around in.
You could start of doing some sort of "virtual assistant" job.
Apologies if this is obvious but not knowing your background. Are you familiar with the all the Microsoft+ suite - Word, Excel, Powerpoint? You could learn all these easily by watching youtube.
Can you type fast? Transcription jobs.
Knowing Excel could get you some data input jobs to see if you are a fan of data. And move into BigData etc.
You might be able to get some "desktop publishing jobs" formatting documents etc if you like this sort of thing you could do some more publishing work using quark, adobe illustrator, Indesign etc. All probably possible to learn online or even via youtube. Maybe head down the marketing, communications route.
Maybe you might like to do Project Management or Business Anaylst course online?
Perhaps travel agency work?
I would take smaller steps and see what might interest you. Maybe all these options you could try in the next year whilst you still have your current job.
Maybe none of these will pay as much as you like. But you might be able to find a niche and they would all be possible from home office.

All interesting options thank you. Need to look at how easy it is to find a reliable amount of work. Not sure how much call there is for travel agents these days.
I'd love robe a sports photographer, but I know that's not at all realistic. Many people with much more talent and better equipment than me that struggle to find work.
I just heard this from a person who lived in canton Zürich. She was over 40 when she got divorced and wanted to start a new career. She ended up moving to Thurgau because apparently in Zürich 40 is the age limit. She is now a medical professional 🙂 I will try to research a bit and post something tomorrow.

Wow, Switzerland is so ageist. In the U.K. you can get a student loan at any age I think. The problem in the U.K. is you often can’t get a loan for a second degree (STEM subjects are exempt). So U.K. in you need to get it right first time
