Rowing machine recommendation

awesome! if you get the chance it's great fun racing at the Armada Cup near RC Bern too..!

I know someone with a slightly used one for 800chf (if they still have it)... PM me if interested.

Irrespective, I would go C2... what you invest extra upfront you will recover on ease and value of resale, they are rock solid even in a gym and are the benchmark.

Agree. Concept 2 all the way. We have a D model we bought about 4 years ago. A little oil from time to time and it is as good as new.

New D model is CHF 1,125 direct from Concept2. I am sure you can find it cheaper shopping around.

bringing this thread back to life as I am looking for a concept2. We use these at the club and it would be a no brainier to take the same. Now I saw the Concept Dynamic and these promise less stress on the ligaments etc. It looks a bit more like the RP3/RowPerfect and should be as solid as the C2.

any experience with this machine?

I haven't tried it or even heard of it despite it being around 2 years, but it seems aimed at on water rowers and is much more technical than the basic C2.

If you learn decent technique and don't insist on rowing with the drag at 10 but 4 to 5 I'm not sure what ligament stress you might have on a C2.

thats the thing indeed. I do not see it anywhere and nobody talks about it. Though some searching on the web delivers confusing results. Dynamic rowers would be better than static as they are suppose to have a more natural feel (and less stress on th ligaments).

Conclusion being the Concept Dynamic would be too light where the RP3 would be 14 to 17 kg equalling a fast boat. But that is just internet talk. Would rather like to test these myself

The Swiss distributor is based in Samstagern, very close to where I live, perhaps I go have a go. C2 definitely pitch it at competitive water rowers...

Its also 300 bucks more than a model D. What I would like is a dual rower/ski erg. Their ski erg is a great and under valued piece of kit.

We bought a Concept 2 rowing machine in August from Sport Tiedje Schweiz in Zurich for CHF1125. We left our other Concept 2 in Australia for our son. Thought we would do without it whilst here as my husband likes running and I like walking. He was starting to get injuries from running and we both felt we also needed to strengthen our upper bodies as we age. We love the Concept 2 for a good all round body workout. It is our third one as we keep moving countries! I'm not sure what they would sell here second hand in Switzerland. I looked for one before paying out for a new one again, but couldn't find one. They seem to get snapped up fast. At least if you buy one, you will know that you can easily sell it if needed as they have a good reputation. Here is the link to store we bought from http://www.sport-tiedje.co.uk/en/Spo...e-in-Zurich-33

Hope that helps.

Cheers

Lyn
