As I wrote above, most people... Anyway, your point is well taken.
No, I don't understand French - but Google translate does not too bad of a job.

People keep saying how bad Flon and and Riponne are, but it's not really. Flon is safe even at night, and just avoid Riponne at night but at day it's fine. The park called Parc Montbenon just next to Flon is a marijuana hotspot, but it's not dangerous.
So yeah, avoid P-S and the Chauderon to Renens area.
personally, i know the area and i would take the apartment. you'll be lucky to find anything else- i speak from experience
I regularly see broken car windows.
No later than 10 days ago, there were about 8-10 cars with broken windows on the parking near the bridge.
Called the police, they were aware of it, and can do nothing.
Otherwise, on a more usual basis, it's 1-2 broken windows visible in saturday morning, heading to the market, walking.
Also, as said before, it's full of drug dealers who have more or less control of the place, and usually no identity. Meaning they can rob/stab you and then what? they're not existing officially. Makes it easier to comit mischiefs.
Anyway, also my colleagues often report issue around chauderon with:
-Thiefs
-Drug dealers
-Gang of idiots in sportswear fighting before/after nightclub outing
-Drunks
To an extend, it's close to Ripponne which is the hang out for drug dealers. Also not later than 10 days ago, same outing, I almost walked on a needle + syringe near Riponne, on the morning of the market.
Summary of Chauderon:
+ (?) central
+ Access to transportation (LEB, Metro, buses, near gare)
- prices
- parking
- dodgey
- regular car damages
- noisy
-drug dealers and other annoyance
Choice is yours.
L'Association Suisse Des Locataires
It's about Fr.55.00 per year. If you should have any problems with your landlord they will represent you.
This association is well respected here in Switzerland in the courts of arbitration.
Sorry, only in the Suisse national languages not in English find somebody to help you fill in the form.
My wife and I have finally decided to not take this flat and not to look for any other flat in this area.
I must say I'm quite pleased with the number of replies and the kind of genuine concern shown by people on englishforum.ch I'll be more active on this place from now on.
I've just read your thread, and am curious to know if you have found anything?
