In case my employment ends, i might be entitled to salary continuation which is essentially few months of salary paid as if you are still employed.
How is that perceived from a chomage perspective. Do they still consider you as employed till the last payroll? Alternatively, you must inform them the moment the salary continuation period starts?
I seem to remember from a previous period of unemployment that you are expected to inform the chômage people as soon as you know that you are going to lose your job, i.e. basically when you receive your notice. Anyone with more recent experience please correct me if I am wrong.
Based on my experience, they do consider you employed until last payroll. I informed ORP shortly before end of paid period. No one said a word about necessity to inform them earlier, let alone penalization. I guess, might be different in German/Italian parts.
In my experience the clerk at chômage laughed at me at waved me off when I wanted to register as soon as I was put on a garden leave, he said "please don't bother us now as most likely you'll get another job in line soon, come here no sooner than a week before your actual start of unemployment.
