I dont have a job anymore and I still have 3 months left on my GA SBB contract.

Has anyone had any luck canceling their contract before 6 months?

I can offer them to pay the full price difference of the previous 3 months (full price 420 instead of 340CHF as per contract price).

No sense in paying for something I cannot afford or am leaving the country since I am unemployed immigrant.

Any experience ?

I don't get it. If you only have 3 months left, surely you've had it for more that 6 months (9 in fact).

Or do you mean you've had it 3 months and therefore there is 3 months before you can cancel?

Hi

I had the GA contract for 3 months...and I need to stay with them for next 3 months as well (total of 6 months), before I can legally cancel. Accodring to them min contract length is 6 months. Hence me having another 3 months with them.

My cancelation date earliest is end of August.

Thought I can come there and beg them to pay the price differences for all the previous invoices and just call it even.

Minimum duration is 6 months, with one month notice period. But you should be able to suspend it.

Should you leave, that may be a different thing, perhaps talk to the sales personnel or give them a call. I believe you get some paper confirming your de-registration when you do, have that with you.

My thought process is that they do not want to be financially damaged or suckered by people using cheaper price per month and then prematurely canceling.

If I offer to pay the difference...it would be as if I never accepted the 6 month contract and just payed full price the whole time...no damage to their profits. And I dont have to pay 1020CHF for 3 months which I wont even be in the country potentially.

It isn't me you need to convince

Why not call them and explain your situation. If you are leaving the country they may be more understanding.

Staff at the SBB do not engage in negotiation prices they simply apply the rules.

Just call them or go into a service centre such as the one at HB, explain your situation, and ask what your best option is.

When we left Switzerland a trip into the SBB ticket office with our deregistration papers from the gemeinde repaid unused portions of our halb-tax cards and various part used multi-ticket packs. It didn't seem that this was an unusual occurrence.
