Thats whole point, I'm an ex "plod" so I'm allowed to be sensitive now and don't have to put up with people's crap anymore.
Especially not keyboard warriors who have the exact same profile as me, who say omg get a job and is actually a housewife themselves, who's profile also says she only speaks one language, like me. But I guess the difference is I don't go to people's profiles and find the faults and point them out, well until now.
Merry Christmas mate!
I apologise unreservedly 19Monica. I looked at the profile and DIDN’T go back through your previous posts since joining the forum. Totally my fault. Apologies again, hope you have a very happy Christmas and New Year and that the move goes well for you.
You’re not necessarily unemployable here. Once you learn a Swiss language you could, if you wanted to, maybe look for work with Securitas or Protectas. Might be the down the line aways with children/dog to look after, but it may be a possibility if you want to get back into that line of work in the future.
A great resource for parents hoping to prepare young children to share their lives with a dog is the Tierschutz Beider Basel.

This group is more than just a rescue - they are a resource for the community dedicated to promoting responsible dog ownership. They have an 'Eltern und Kind' course, as well as a whole PetKids program. The latter is for children older than yours, but nonetheless worth looking into.
TBB has a volunteer dog walking program where you and your children could volunteer to walk a shelter dog - many parents find this a fun way to help their youngsters learn about dogs before making the full time commitment of a dog of their own. As you are settling in and searching for your pup - which may take longer than expected - something to think about.

TBB also offers the SKN courses. I would guess in German only, but again - do look into them. I think some EF members have taken this course - hopefully someone who has will chime in.

The database for certified SKN trainers is here, simply plug in your PLZ for a list of trainers in your area. Some might list languages spoken on their websites, but what I'd recommend is simply writing to all convenient to you asking if English - or beginning German - is a possibility. Even if a trainer does not offer the course in English you might find that another class participant can translate for you , or you could bring along a friend to translate.

(Do you have any German at all? If so, you'll likely be surprised at how far a little bit goes, especially if you already know the subject matter.)
Some breeders are also trainers (stands to reason given the socialization program a good breeder must undertake) and are certified to offer the SKN courses, by the way. When you find a breeder you like, ask if he/she can help you find an appropriate SKN course if language is a problem.
Good luck with your search - and with settling in to life in Switzerland.
