Assuming you meet the necessary MLA requirements, opening an account should not be a problem.

But keeping it secret is another matter:

- First of all you need to have a very good memory and think several steps a head all the time or at some point you'll slip

- Second you need to ensure that no documents are send to your residence. Banks do offer this service for a fee

- You should declare it for tax purposes and if you get caught you'll need to deal with the consequences. How if it is a join declaration, the your spouse will become involved.

- Then you need to think about how will fund it and spend it without attracting attention of your spouse

If it is a couple of Ks it might be as well to stuff it in a biscuit box and hide it somewhere.

Yeah very true I always prefer a physical card but those who prefer Apple Pay and the like can do without one.
