Local Coop (Gossau ZH) got this wrong and made unpacked items cheaper than with packing. I guess in a week or two they’ll get to grips with it…
You can ignore it and just enter the number. The difference in weight will be in the benefit of Migros anyway, so nobody cares.
I tested all 3 options and the final price was the same. If you want to save money, take smaller fruits not the big ones. Now how much did they spend to upgrade these scales?
Probably not much at all, it would have pretty easy to programme the scales with those options.
If these are fruits that should be peeled before being eaten, then with the smaller fruits it would be more peel to throw away, no?
As Tiny pointed out, eventually they will charge 5 cents per plastic bag to push people to use reusable bags and to help environment.
Which would be perfectly fine.
The problem are the stickers, they don’t stick to the reusable bags (got tons of those at home) and no, not to the tiny label on them which I think was meant for that and also are too small if you have several different fruit/veggies in the bag. So where can I stick them? On the side of the trolley? On the lenth of my arm?
The stickers are the problem, the moment they stick to cloth (and can be removed again but not so easy that they fall off before the check-out) I’m sure many people will bring their reusables in.
Stick them on your forehead.
