Selling good on Amazon & Etsy

Hi all,

We are living in Switzerland with my wife with B Permit, and she wants to sell some goods (jewelry, candle etc.) on Amazon & Etsy. Since I do not know the regulations, just wanted to ask what needs to be done

Does she needs to set up kind of one-person company, or is it allowed to sell good on Amazon until a max limit of revenue?

There is no Amazon in Switzerland

No actually I will open Seller account from Amazon.de and ship across Europe from Switzerland. In that case, do I have any up revenue limit before it requires me to establish a company?

OP, are you asking about the rules of Amazon in Germany, or the rules for trading in Switzerland, or the rules for establishing a company in Switzerland?

If she is running a business, she most likely need a change of permit.

Indeed, this might be the case. It is possible, though, that her B-permit was issued with permission to work. OP, please be aware that some B-permits specifically exclude working.

Things to consider:

- getting back Swiss VAT (if any, perhaps jewelry is excempt, AFAIK gold is)

- paying foreign VAT

- paying foreign customs fees, following export procedures and regulations in general

- handling the entire thing, the customers will hate to have that do it for you, and pay for it, if it's posted from Switzerland
