Just yesterday, I had to identify myself for Revolut and it took a video call and waving around with my ID for the person to see the security features on her screen. Plus then she took screen shots of the front and back… so much easier with a eID and I would have to give out less information too.
(knowing full well, that the eID will not be accepted everywhere.)
Once he has conquered the world and every country is turned into a state, then yes, there will be no more double taxation.
Well for once, the final results match my voting.
Both federal votes surprising as 2nd residence tax wasn’t even close with 57.73% in favour. It was expected to be much closer.
The e-ID was surprising with only 50.39% in favour, just 21,226 difference out of 2,7 million votes cast. In fact the Nos were winning right up to the final counts (I think) in some of the larger Zurich communes.
What was, again, disappointing was the less than 50% participation.
I’m surprised that one actually passed to be honest. Most people I spoke to didn’t think it had been thought through properly and weren’t prepared to trust it.
If it had needed cantonal majority it would have failed.

It appears that Neuchâtel was 53% non on that vote, but the city itself was 52% Oui. Lots of misinformation, particularly on social media, around here. Some were just repeats from the last vote.
