.... and the good news is that there's one in the shopping complex under the stadium in Wankdorf (yes, that's a real place name: if 'dorf' means village, I'll let you guess the rest).
Don't knock it ...... Subway, at least, is still a novelty for the locals - a sandwich that is made fresh to order and hasn't sat in a cabinet for half a day.
Blimey, I didn't know there were so many Everton supporters
Course there is. Burger King, too. But not quite the prices you're used to. No KFC, though. And if you fancy a hot curry, best wait till you get home.
Well, there's a place in Lancashire called Tosside, so he'll feel right at home.
Haha Jern
Thanks chaps for the advice, it has really made me happy and excited for my visit Bern, take in the sights and sample the food and drink.

And a place called "Penistone" but that is in Yoorkshur.
I grew up near there and never thought of that ( because of the way we say it I guess).
I won't be able to drive through or write my cousin's Christmas card without sniggering now.
Definetively:
- Altes Tramdepot (even for a beer and bretzel in the afternoon)
- Anker: http://roeschti.ch/ (for the best Rösti!!!!)
- Arirang: korean ( http://www.restaurant-arirang.ch/ )
- Gfeller in Barenplatz (for a big piece of delicious cake)
Enjoy!

Many thanks Annalisa, very much appreciated...... So many helpful people on here, great forum.
It goes without saying that anyone wishing to visit Liverpool must try a Cains beer and a lovely hot bowl of scouse....complete with red cabbage and bread.
