Sky v Freesat

you say you paid someone to align your dish? sure they did it ok?? aligning the dish is an artform! it took me hours to align our dish and the slightest (and I mean slightest) knock makes it totally lose the signal

You would have the same problem as you would be receiving the same signal from the same satellite and same channels!

Your signal is weak because either:

1) there is an obstruction (like a tree) in the line between the satellite and your dish

2) the dish is not aligned correctly

What kind of signal strength do you get? With my system, Humax FoxSat HDR, on a channel you can receive press the 'I' (info) button on the remote to get the channel info bar across the bottom of the screen. On the right side there are two horizontal bars showing signal strength and quality. These are both on 90% to 100% with mine...

And a signal booster? Investigating getting a bigger dish now!

Thanks for the help

But in the mountains the proximity of the local mountain peaks can make a big difference. I even struggle to get GPS signals in some valleys.

From Davos, Astra 28.2 is at 155° azimuth and 33° elevation

Go stand at your satellite dish.

Face 155° (use a compass)

Look up 33 degrees.

That is where the signal comes from

At only 33 degrees elevation, you may have a mountain blocking some or part of the signal.

If the signal is being blocked by the mountain you have 3 choices:

1. Move the mountain

2. Move the house

3. Get a bigger dish & better LNB
