somebody was ringing our doorbell continiously at 2AM in the morning.

Well...evryone is kind of right..welcome to Switzerland...small things count and small noises can cause arguments particularly when older people live in the building. However it does not matter where you come from but where you are now..and having said that I come from a country where loud TV is acceptable till 2 in the morning ..playing in the balcony at summer! But you will have better nerves if you try to adjust a bit to here's attitudes towards certain things. However as someone wrote it is amazing how people here would nock your door to complain about the funniest thing..whereas they would not bother checking what is going on at 3 in the morning by an extreme sound-such as changing the lock with one of these extremely noisy maschines-the first summer I was in my flat my bag was stolen one night out and after going to the police they send a professional to open the door for me-had no spare key- and change the lock for security-apart from that it took 45 min to manage to get someone to open the two doors downstairs-the professional made an extreme noise for 20 min.Guess what-nobody came out to say something not even call the police or so..could have been someone crazy entering someone's house or whatever-or as someone said could have been a fire and I was ringing the bells...well you can never predict some people's reactions!

do you come from greece, by any chance?

And it would have to be 3 weeks to 3 months in advance.

"Geil! But can you hold it until then?"

Hey, people just walk into our flat. Which, of course, has the advantage that you can confront them directly... We live in a house owned by a sort of fraternity but only one floor is inhabited by its members - the one above us. It it a regular occurrence for strangers to wander into our flat looking for Bearhug, Fuzzywinkle and Three-Tit-Toby. At three AM. Why is our flat open? There is a room that leads directly to the staircase belonging to our flat and the German guy living there refuses to lock our door.

Why are there so many stupid, inconsiderate people in this world? Whatever happened to Darwinism? Has it turned into "survival of da fikkest"? God, I really hate the general public.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

I feel I am a normal person :-)

Will soon be implemention some of your ideas

Regards

Prads wife

The next time someone shows up looking for someone who actually lives on the floor above, feign ignorance and direct them to the flat of the German guy.

Keep doing it until German dude gets the message.
