So a short question, as google doesn't give me a straight answer neither in German nor in EN, does KIGA Arbeitslosengeld counts as Sozialhilfe towards negative response for citizenship application?
Seems like a yes to me, but as CH has different social help for residents, I want to be sure.
In BL requirement is 5 years of no Sozialhilfe before application, in SO it's only 3y. We are considering changing canton to speed up the time for application (we are aware of cantonal and gemeinde Wohnsitz requrements), but looking for straight answer first.
Were you paid from unemployment insurance to which you had contributed while working? If so, that is an insurance payment and therefore NOT Sozialhilfe.
If the payment was not an insurance payment, then you may be right that it counts as Sozialhilfe.
You could always call them and ask ... the number's on their website , and they would be the best placed to clearly answer your question.
Ok, that makes some sense. It was a normal unemployment paid out after several years of working and paying contributions.
KIGA - Kantonales Amt für Industrie, Gewerbe und Arbeit, maybe it's just BL naming? Anyways, it's Arbeitslosenkasse that pays out unemp. benefits after RAV registration.
