Starry, starry night

Went up to tbe top of the hill looking for that comet currently on its way through the solar system, could not find the comer but manages to get some nice pictures with my cheap 100€ Händi.

That’s the Orionid meteor shower–it’s leftover bits of Comet Halley that we swing through, and it will be even better tomorrow night and Tuesday.

Been looking out with my Händi, but thick cloud and fog say: “no!”
Still rather surprised with this phone, a Samsung A60, an older model, new for 100€’s does all you need but the ability to set the camera is much better than on either of my i-phones.
I took these on the bridge over the lech with only a faint light from a sickle moon.

Tolally opened up the setting

Getting there.

Thats what I wanted. Taken with the faint light from the last sliver of a waning moon.

With point and shoot setting.

These are photos that my daughter took when she was in Norway with her family earlier this month…

Seen the aurora only a few times, once low on the horizon over lake superior, once on a transatlantic flight, a few times in Denmark and once in the nirth of Scotland.
But never as magnificent as these pictures.
