Stem cell therapy for osteoarthritis in dogs - experience?

One of the options we are considering to help Robin Goodfellow's osteoarthritis is stem cell therapy.

Do any of you have any experience, especially when the condition presents in a relatively young dog? (Robin is not yet five years old.)

If you have had this done, I would very much like to hear about your experience, especially of the procedure itself and what after-care entailed. Robin is not an easy dog to handle, I have to consider his behavior and tolerance levels as I weigh up options.

And of course, i'd like to hear about your perception as to success of the treatment.

Many thanks.

(A forum search brings up an old post where someone was inquiring if stem cell therapy was available in veterinary medicine here, as her dog was receiving the therapy back in the US. That poster no longer appears to be active on the forum, though.)
