Storage room - maybe unusual question

Hello everyone,

recently, I started being interested in all sorts of DIY, so I would like to get a DIY table and some tools to go with it (its a hobby, not my actual job and I wouldn't do it all the time). However, I would prefer not to have in my apartment if possible (I mean, I do have the space for it, but Im going to move into an attic apartment, in an older building just outside of Zurich city in ZH canton, and I don't want to bother my neighbours if possible).

So, my question is, if its possible to turn my storage room that is downstairs, into a small DYI room of some kind. The apartment has lots of extra storage, so I dont really need this room at all and it being downstairs I thought it would be perfect as the noise would be lower too. I would use it only during normal hours of course. But, I was just wondering if there is some law or some weird thing I dont know about that would prevent me from doing this?

Thank you

If I recall correctly, if your cellar space has 'normal' walls making it a separate room, it might be classified as a "hobby room", so you can do something like you want.

If it just has the wooden slat bars, dividing a large cellar into smaller sections, then I think you're out of luck.

Make sure it’s not your abris anti-atomique.
