Before we bought our babycarriage we talked to some parents. I would just approach a couple with a babycarriage I liked (I know it sounds a little creepy but we had done the same for a lot of other people asking us for our babycarriage) that were in no hurry and just asked them how happy they are with theirs. A suprising number of folks were really really helpful, they know it is a science..So, since you are going to buy online, I would ask the parents. Or go to a store to test it out, they let us lift it, ride it around the dept store, shake it and rock it..The trio we had came with ISO fix for its car seat, I am not sure is the new ones do.
I will be going to a store to test a stroller out and buy from the store. I get overwelmed when I go into a store with 50 strollers that I need to identify and work out which ones are suitable. I lifted about 5 up last Saturday and all were too heavy then I decided to just look at the weight online since that wasn't shown on the shop tag.
Toy r us are really annoying and puts their strollers up on a platform for display. Considering most people are pregnant when looking for a new stroller it is a really stupid thing to do since I pulled the stroller out and tried to get it off the platform before I felt it was very heavy.
Yeah, some of the stores are not too...user friendly. Watch out for all the heavy liftin'!
I wonder if writing a mass email to couple of chosen manufacturers asking them if their strollers take your car seat, I can imagine they should have the info in hand. Or - email the Romer maker to find out which strollers take it?
There are forums for these questions, too and then good old Babycenter with Products for babies forum. Romer is really well known, BBC has a European subforum, I am sure moms there will know it? If you speak German, there is a Swissmomforum , too.
The car cots I am talking about from Chicco etc actually have belts and are rigid for car transport so I think they owuld be great for bus transport too?

You mean the nacelle (basinet) hard plastic shell for the small babes? We used it in the car strapped with a special car strap we had to buy separately, at the back 2 seats, but only in Switzerland. It is so practical and comfortable for the little ones! But it is not legal to use it in CZ, I think in Germanny as well, for safety reasons. I would be cautious using it in the car outside of Switzerland. I can imagine car seats are still safer on the buses and trams, but we never took many. I wore my bub when on public transport since she was taking travelling easier that way, thinking about it now, not very safe at all...
Yes, I mean precisely those
Are you sure about it not being legal in Germany? We bought ours in Italy (EU) and would assume these things are EU standards nowadays...
I found it super practical and would use again as it was so comfy for baby to lie in it for long trips.
Cheers,
