Hello everyone,
I am a non-European Student holding a B permit. I have been looking for a summer internship (non-mandatory) during the last 5 months, and even though I have received offerings, companies reject me because I do not have a work permit an they do not want to do the paperwork.
My university told me the only thing that they could help me is giving me a letter saying that the internship would not be detrimental to my studies.
Has anyone been in this situation? Has anyone found a solution?
I thought about the Young Professional Trainee but my country is not in the program.

If the internship is not mandatory, unfortunately there is a low chance to get an internship position, especially if it is a summer internship for 2-3 months.
And don’t misunderstand me, you are allowed to work full-time during semester breaks, like in summer. But when you apply for a summer internship, it still counts and means as an internship, which won’t work as a full-time job during semester breaks.
My suggestion would be to find a part-time position (working student) then you are allowed to work full-time during semester breaks (as long as employer is fine with it) and you can work 15 hours during your studies.
