Judging by the lifestyle factors important to people which are discussed on this forum, and can be seen in real-life, I’d say that many of those factors are not merely a personal preference but are important to many, if not the majority of people.
So do airports. That’s why cheapo airlines fly cheaply at inconvenient times (which I’m sure you know!)
So that’s a bit of a non-argument, isn’t it? No one’s throwing down a couple of extra runways either.
Not as much as you would think. Their primary focus is using non-congested airports. EasyJet, for example doesn’t serve London Heathrow but does fly to three other London airports. And their historic slot portfolios at airports like Gatwick and Geneva are quite extensive at all times of the day. They have the most passengers of any airline at both of these airports.
And if you book an accomodation with Booking you get a free taxi ride from the airport to your accomodation in many big cities, including the ones in UK.
Funny that you don’t get a free ride from the railway station.
Dammit - I wish I’d known that two weeks ago. I booked my flights through Booking . com and almost lost the will to live, battling with the trains. Top tip for next time, though!
They did not vote to pay more. They voted to pay the same amount as before, including a vague promise that the amount would be slightly reduced in the future.
These two initiatives (the one for radio/TV and this one on flight tax) concern completely different aspects of ‘paying’.
