Hi all,
I haven't seen an answer to this online or here so I thought I'd ask. About the obligation for B permit holders earning >120k to file tax declarations: what if you are working say 4 days a week and at the end of the day you earn 100k per year, so 125k annualized. Would you still need to report? Or is it just on the gross figure and not the annualised figure?
Cheers
I do not have an official source, but my understanding is that your income is simply what it is, not what it would be if you worked the average working hours. You are taxed for your income, not for what your income would be if you worked 100%. That is a different situation to arriving mid year and working some months only, where the annualization is used, but this is somewhat linked to the tax at source being calculated on a monthly basis.
The idea of having to file a tax return is that the amount due may be "far" from the "average" rate estimated for tax at source. Working 80% does not make a difference in that sense.
Note that besides the 120k, there are other criteria under which you may need to file taxes anyway (income above 3000 not subject to tax at source or neto wealth above a certain figure, for instance).
