I'm not saying the OP's like this but it is possible to be pretty fluent in speaking a language and not being able to write it at all - this often occurs with people who were brought up in a country where their mother tongue is not spoken or studied but they speak their mother tongue at home.
Apart from their curious aversion to capital letters, the OP is clearly not illiterate or incoherent. All they would have to do is write down what they would otherwise have said in their 90% quality spoken German.
I'll try not to go one about this anymore but one final point -- one has to presume that the OP did at least some basic preparation for the exam. If they really did have a total inability to write anything in German, it would have been pretty obvious to them during their prep.
What is age to do with anything? do you think older people are smarter then young? or that there is any correlation at all? lol
Many jobs like Taxi driver for example you need the certificate just to apply. Nobody said about chance of getting the job lol. Why are you making arguments up?
I took the B1 test in Nov 2015 and passed. I had taken courses beforehand at Migros Klubschule in Basel and the test there too. They had prepared me and said with the written part, the most important part was answering the letter properly. Having the salutation, greeting, introduction, body, etc etc.
I was surprised because they said grammar was not as important as answering all the points! Either the exercise wasn't done properly or some other strange thing happened. I would contact someone immediately as no one will want to see that certificate.....
I totally agree with this reply. However it's not inconceivable but unlikely.
If the written part completely misunderstood the subject matter then I can imagine the exam board marking a zero.
From my experience of Telc. I passed the A2 exam on 2 separate occasions (4 years apart) and received exactly the same overall score which I found strange, 79.4%, but since I passed, I couldn't be bothered to question it. I felt on my second attempt that my German had vastly improved, but I received the same score!
You can appeal but I'm not sure how successful you'll be.
If I were you, I'd just sit the test again. ... and Good Luck with whatever you decide.
I wonder if the OP ever got an answer as to why I scored 0 in writing. If he did indeed write something on the answer sheet, then pretty much the only possible reason for a 0 score would be that he mis-read the question - i.e. writing something completely irrelevant to the essay topic. In this case, he would automatically get a zero regardless of how good the essay otherwise is.
You can get 0 if you cheat (copy-paste one of the sample model letters in your text). It is strange, but it seems some people do this.
When I prepared by B2 exam last year, my teacher warned us against even trying
I was actually searching for other information....can anyone recommend a good school or teacher in Zurich to prepare C1? I'm not happy with my class...
Today after my Telc A2 exam, the owner of the test centre told us to pass A2 we need 60%+ on speaking, and 60% overall (means that if you get lower than 60% in any of the other 3 parts but overall is above, that’s ok too)
Does it mean for every level the criteria for issuing the certificate is different?
