So i was driving in Italy, and had an accident with a Vespa which dented the driver door and disintegrated the front mirror (I believe the Vespa driver to be okay).
Insurance requires the garage who fixes the car to be Tesla affiliated, otherwise I pay a higher deductible. Anyone have experience of this? We live in Zollikerberg (Zürich) ideally would be within a one hour drive.
My research send to indicate that GRECO and amag both fulfill these criteria.
Anyone have experience with this sort of thing / either of these two garages?
Ring up and ask Tesla, problem solved.
You need to go to a Tesla approved bodyshop. Contact Tesla or perhaps your insurer, who should know. I know one in Geneva, but that probably won't do you much good.
In my experience the insurer was not so clued in and wanted to send to a different garage. Be persistent, contact Tesla first through the app.
You're lucky, many times the insurance company wants to send you to the cheapest body shop they're partnering with.
In my experience, when they're suggesting where to go for min deductible, they ask for location and give contact details of choices available
Can't you take it to the service centre in Winterthur?
Could be, I’d still call them or put a service request in and see what they suggest.
I have the InsureMyTesla option from Zurich Insurance. They work the the approved centers. Process was very smooth when I had damaged my car.
Me too. Zurich partner with Tesla and I had some body damage repaired at Walde AG in Uster - approved by Tesla and Zurich...
