The (Available in CH) Dog Food Review Thread

Due to move out in the summer. My 12 year old setter is currently on Gilpa dry food for sensitive stomachs but I have to mix in Chappie tinned food or she wont eat it.

Are either of these products available in Switzerland? The Chappie tins are one of the cheapest brands in the UK but as it is rice based its excellent for dogs like mine that can't tolerate wet foods.

Hi Jennifer,

I was feeding my dogs Blue Buffalo as well, and I found a place online that sells Natural Balance. In my opinion as good as Blue Buffalo and I had fed my dogs Natural Balance in the past. I buy it here http://www.luxus-dogs-swiss.ch/ (formerly solidgoldswiss.ch). The owner's name is Steffi, and she's very nice and responds to e-mails quickly. Her delivery time is excellent, usually next day. She's also sent me freebies with my purchase.

We've used Editrust for the past 18 months, and have loved their service. If I place an order before noon, it typically arrives before noon the next day. We've been feeding Acana Premium Adult (available in 18 kg bags), and feel it is a good value for our two medium-size, six-year-old dogs, who have no unusual food needs/allergies. Having such a huge bag of food show up on my doorstep, requiring no lugging from Qualipet, is also a huge advantage!

Here is a link to their current price list for dog foods and chews: http://www.editrust.ch/files/upload/...kauf_Hunde.pdf

Since Kazimir has a very sensitive stomach and suffers from diarrhea quite often when you feed him something too fatty, we have tried so many different brands that were supposedly high quality but were never really happy with it - sometimes he wouldn't even touch it - until my daughter posted this in a pet forum and we were recommended Wolfsblut. It's dry and he likes it very much plus he has less trouble digesting it. I believe you can only mail order it , we order 2 packs a month and he eats about one measuring cup (1 liter size) in the morning and in the evening. No artificial aromas, no presevatives, no coloring.

Been feeding my Spaniel Marengo Classic for two weeks now. He's really keen on it. It's another of these complete holistic foods which suprisingly is relatively cheap. 75chf per 15kg. I changed vet to one that can also do Animal Homeopathy and it was a recommendation from her.

I'll have to wait a few weeks and see if there are any physical changes (drier/oilier hair blah blah) but from the start his faeces are no longer stinking to high heaven and are solid and he's regular twice a day after eating.

Seems to be a keeper
