Just watched Gladiator as it was partly filmed in our favourite part of Tuscany (around Pienza/Val d'Orcia) and we wanted to see the scenery. Another film partly shot there is 'The English Patient'. Can't find it on Netflix, but can't find it- probably too old.

Maybe try your local brockenstube, armee salut, or similar local place that recycles or sells used dvds. That's where I find all these superb movie treasures.
amazon.fr and amazon.co.uk both have dvds of the film if you can't find it anywhere else.
FWIW, there are torrents available online in very good quality. If you have a recent TV, it likely can either be streamed to it from your PC or played through a USB stick
Available on Anibis.ch for CHF 8 plus probably CHF 2 to have it sent. It is a used DVD but is in good shape. In English.
You can check the English Patient DVD out from the Pestalozzi-Bibliothek in Zürich. According to the website, both the library branches in Zürich old town and oerlikon have copies. You'll have to join the library (between 40 and 95 ChF per year).

We were just there beautiful place ...
We have been going to the same place now for 14 years, a bit further South still - near San Casciagno dei Bagni. Just so beautiful and not as crowded and touristy as further North. We always spend 1 week at 'our' place (ownership 1 week per year, lol- timeshare) and 1 week at a new place + a few days travelling down and back.
Were you in Pienza town?
Yes, very quickly. We did a tour of Tuscany and Umbria while there for a friends wedding.
The driver we hired from Cortona to Perugia insisted we stop quickly there since my husband is such a fan of the film and for its beauty.
Ah well worth going back to explore Val D'Orcia, Pienza, Montepulciano, Montalcino, Radicofani, Bagno Vignoni and Bagno San Filippo- and so much more. Hôtel Piccolo has fabulous views and just on the edge of town.
Now I know our next journey Thank-you for the recommendation, I never tire of Italy.
Happy to give advice and recommendations on this part of Tuscany. We drive- used to do it in one go, now always stop once or twice on the way and back. Stopped in Modena on way down, and Siena on way back and 2 nights in Domo(dossola). And had 1 week in SW Umbria before Tuscany. Roads are pretty bad, but it is part of the fun!
Further South we love Sorano, Sovana, Pitigliano- and wonderful Orvieto (which is actually in Umbria- but within easy reach- with a stop at Bolsena lake).
Anyway, can't wait to watch the film to see which bits we can spot. We actually decided to visit Sicily because of the TV series Montalbano- it is fun spotting the places ... and we have been 5 times now!
