Plenty of people have been fired when they later discovered their earlier academic qualifications were ‘incorrect’, even if it isn’t really relevant to the job requirements.

As far as we know, clairvoyance only exists in fiction. The cheapest guys in India could never learn about the degree if it was never mentioned in any document, e.g. CV.
So, the real Kafaesque issue here is presenting the information and then complain when someone asks about it. How dare they? What I just told you is not relevant, don’t ask me about it.
Ridiculous thing is his degree has nothing to do with his job as it’s in Petrochemical Studies, not IT
