Time to drop the shutter on windows

Hmmmm. I always thought it was a mechanical problem (like it will totally break any time now, the spring or some tiny little plastic thingy holding it in place which is why I treated it like a raw egg) but reading this I thought the bloke with the female handle (assumption) could have a point.

00.05h downstairs to pick up my OKAY (if you can advertise Kriechöl-brand, so can I). Applied it and we’ll see how the button works tomorrow.

That would be something!
I would not have dared to use it on buttons near electronics but it actually says on the tin fine mechanics, electronic, household appliences. So far I only used this on rough stuff like locks, hinges etc.
I shall report back.

edit next morning: That didn’t work. Pity.

That doesn’t work like that. The serial numbers are registered and what goes out must come back.

Does everything get shredded in the end? No wonder the German GDP is so high?

German GDP?

Great Deutschland Pulveriser?

Has to do with sensitive data and data protection, probably cheaper to shred than to dismantle, install new HD’s and setup the infrastructure to sell.
I find it disgusting but keep being reminded that my pay grade doesn’t allow me to bitch.

Gross Domestic Product

Yes! Printers can contain sensitive data. Better to play it safe.

Are you still looking for logic?
Actually they do, and not only the ones that contain a HD, the device has a MAC and an IP that some nefarious person could glean information from and it has a name registered in the AD.
From this alone you can deduct how to reroute printjobs, providing you already have a foot in the door, as the government found out in Brandenburg recently.
Even if you wipe it back to factory settings there is still data be gained from the devices steganographic markings or printer tracking dots if you can read them. So better safe than sorry.

No need.

As far as I remember Axa was using skipe because it’s easy and free and his folks are not into complicated handy-stuff.
Threema costs money (Fr. 3.00 for lifetime in my time, cheap but first complication) and it can be a real pita!
I changed my handy last year and did not manage to get threema running on my key. Hardly any of my people are on there so I just gave up.
Now that you mentioned it, I started the procedure again and yes, it was a pita again but now it’s back up and running.
The only EF-contact I had on threema is gone - either changed the number or left the country?

However, I don’t think threema is the solution for Axa and his family back home.
But thanks for the reminder, at least mine works again although it’s treated with neglect on my handy.

Does anyone know if it’s possible to ‘gift’ threema accounts. I’d like to use it with relatives overseas but doubt they would pay for an account. But I’d be happy to pay for them to use a much more secure service.
