Towels on sunbeds

And what about the unreasonable people? The problem is these are people you are likely to see on a recurring basis during your stay.

Tough if they are in the pool for more than five minutes!

We’ve removed peoples’ towels and the group who’s towels they were have just picked up their towels and walked off and had no intention of using the pool again anyway - they left the towels there just in case…

Towels left with books, bags, suntan cream etc are usually left by people who are still actually there and may have nipped to the loo or get a drink.
It’s the loungers with just towels which one shouldn’t feel bad about removing.

the solution is simple. you start your stopclock (or use one of these car -roulette clocks), check the absence of humans for 5 minutes in your chosen spot, then, after neatly folding the other’s people towel, take posession of the spot.

Tourists pay 2, 3 or even 4K euro/week to be able to use an infrastructure of the hotel without stress and not for having to remove someone’s towels from the sunbed risking a conflict. And when I’m using a sunbed I want to go swimming in the swimming pool for 10-20 minutes and still find my things on the sunbed afterwards.

The hotel should define clear rules and their staff should enforce them to make sure that the tourists who stick to the rules have a good relaxed holiday.

So if you pay less, at a campsite with a pool, for example - it’s ok to remove other peoples’ towels because you haven’t paid 4K euro/week?

i am pretty sure if you pay >2K for having access to a ‘private beach’, you don’t have problems with gate crashers placing towels in the sunbeds… the problem is on the <2K resorts

One time I stayed in a cheap hotel in Corfu and around the corner from their beach was a Hilton
We walked to the Hilton every day, paid the attendant for some chairs and a table for the day and he ensured nobody else used them.
