He's 3
The best thing is to follow his interests. By following his interests you will best be able to engage with him through play and so assist him with things like language development and communication, social skills (to develop the ability to play with someone as opposed to playing side by side).
At 3 you might look into toys such as kugel bahns, wooden train sets, cars or tractors with wheels that he can spin ...
I used to worry that we should encourage our son to widen his toy repertoire - but actually they have a right even at 3 to like what they like. And if you enter into their interests, the possibilities for developing other skills/lacunas are far bigger. The short answer to your question is - what does he like? If we know that, we can tell you where to source them
