Does anyone out there in EF-land know of a place/business where I'd be able to do proper test runs of high-end skis?
Does anyone know of shops or ski stations in canton Vaud or Valais that rent out high-end equipment on a daily or half day basis? I am looking to upgrade my skis (am happy with my boots) but feel a bit overwhelmed with the options. Would love to be able to try out a few different pairs before committing to buying.
Oh my goodness, exactly what I was looking for. Will sign up for one of the local ones.
Thank you very much!
Beat me to it- Stöckli test days- brilliant.
As a local brand, Stöckli is present with test days around Swiss resorts, plus a permanent trial base in Zermatt. The catch is that their skis are quite peculiar relative to other brands. If you want to try different brands, look for a "centre d'essai skis" at your nearby resorts. For instance, here is one in 4 Vallées (Nendaz, Siviez, Veysonnaz): https://onthemountain.ch/fr/magasin-...ntre-test-skis (You can bring your boot and helmets, no need to take the package.)
That is a way to test multiple models from multiple brands.

I know in Stoos you can do a ski test for 15 francs a day, so try different skis to see what suits you.I guess most resorts have a test center. There’s a guy in Zurich has his stuff on Ricardo I usually buy second hand skis off and is good stuff, does me for a year or two that way don’t get bored of skiing the same stuff for too long.
