Well, one learns something new every day.
Thank you for the lesson. I really wish I had grown up in the countryside, perhaps even on a farm.
Oh, hang on a second...

My shower gel costs Euro 4.99 in Germany (5km`s away) .. and Sfr16.99 here!
But then again ..... good quality tasty "Fruhstuckspek" costs Sfr36 per kg at the local butcher ... and only Sfr12kg at Denner....
But I got to drive for a long time to find a Denner with a fridge who stocks cold meats ...... so I compromise and buy the 1 Euro bacon at Lidl - same taste just rather skinny and thin... have to use a whole packet per person for a decent egg and bacon breakfast, which only takes place on weekends anyway, as a reward for everyone having worked so diligently during the week.
Those who don`t work get cereals - from Germany. Only the healthy get Swiss Muesli, which the little kids hate anyway and prefer cheap cereals, and they don`t eat eggs since they found out where they come from, but they will eat bacon cause they haven`t yet discovered exactly where that comes from .......
Gosh life is SO hard sometimes!
Bottom line is....they charge CHF11.95 and you pay it. What possible motivation would they have to reduce it....when you pay it? Because they like you?
If you think the price is too high, don't pay it. When everybody else does the same, the price will fall.
Reminds me of the Jo Brand quote....If God had meant us to be vegetarian, he wouldn't have made animals from meat
If there are swiss people that buy it and it continues to sell, it's likely because they don't know that it really shouldn't be that expensive.
But nice attempt at justification none the less...
"I earn my money in CH and I will spend it here" was the reply, heard that one quite a few times, as for the tree huggy stuff I will quote:
"It ́s dead, I ́m hungry, I will eat it" methinks it kind of saves all the moral hassle.
Many years ago before the advent of micro-chips and mini electronic equipment ... my brother asked his wife to bring him the electricty adapter for the adding machine as the battery in it was flat..... she arrived with an earplug adaptor .... which he stuck in his ear and said *Thanks Darl, now it works fine*......
Do you salivate when you see one of the above animals? No..? Then you are not a carnivore.
A lion will salivate at the sight of another animal it knows it can kill and eat.
As an aside here .... according to the author of a book titled "Eat right for your Bloood Type" .... only blood type O folk possess enough digestive acid to consume meat - being the ancestral original hunter (original blood type) ... before the advent of the agrarian blood types.
With most of us, other than the "O" blood types, meat eating is a habit we are conditioned to.
Does anyone know where I can buy phlogiston? I live in Glarus.
Anyway, everything suddenly became 8% cheaper , didn't it.
I wasn't keen. A bit too rare.
Especially the wee bit in "Eat Right For Your Type" that says...
To be fair, I did suggest at the time that you should have a quarter panda and fries
