Do any of the electro-retailers offer a service where they remove and dispose of your old TV when they deliver the new one you bought from them? We have a serious lack of rubbish disposal options around here. Thanks

Sure, they charge a fee for this service. Or you simply bring it yourself to any place which sells TVs, this will be free of charge. Or, you put it on the curb and write a note: "Gratis zum Mitnehmen".

If they offer installation, they will offer removal.

Yeah obvs I didn’t expect it for free. It’s broken, can’t give it away unfortunately - if it wasn’t broken I wouldn’t be getting rid tho!

Looks like the best option is to take it to a recycling place or to a store yourself.

If you bought the new TV from an online shop, and are having it delivered, then there is no store to take it back to.

Unfortunately the old TVs can be quite heavy even if they are not very wide. We sold an older TV (which was not broken) to someone who wanted it for a holiday home near us and I could not believe how heavy it was!

Also then there are hundreds of stores, where you can dispose it free of charge.

I think you can just leave it within Conforama or MediaMarkt, or most places which sell electronics --> you could ask first in the store (or just call)

New one is coming this afternoon actually, we are going to see if they will take the old one away with them.

You can drop it off at any Mediamarkt or have them take it with and dispose it for you when they deliver your new TV.

Confirama driver would only take it for 50- , so today we are driving it to the nearest rubbish tip place, which is nearer than any electronics shop. They will take electronics for free, was not paying conforama 50-.

I wouldn't have paid them either.

I understood they are obligated to take the old TV at no charge. But clearly not according to their website.

We recently had a new dishwasher delivered and installed and they(Fust) took away the old one at no charge. But Conforama charges for that too.

They are obligated to take the old TV, but you must deliver it to them. They are not obligated to pick it up.

When you are buying an appliance you should ask at time of purchase for them to dispose of the old.
