Just a quick heads up to anyone here who currently rents out a property in the UK. The installation of carbon monoxide alarms in rented homes becomes mandatory on 1 October 2022.

But really, carbon monoxide detectors are a good idea because who knows what people will be burning in their houses to keep warm this Winter. Charcoal barbecues, for example, are known for causing such fatalities.
