I m Non-EU from Turkey. I landed Lisbon with D3(Highly qualified-tech visa program) ( 120 days 2 Entry). My visa was valid between 04.05.2022-31.08.2022. My Immigrant office(SEF) appointment was booked automatically on 25th October. I gave all documents and SEF gave me a document that says Proof of request and request for granting Residence permit. It has been more than a month but i haven't got my residence permit yet. But my flight is tomorrow.
I have got a flight ticket which is non-refundable. From Lisbon > Zurich (airport change- train Zurich to Basel) and Basel > Istanbul.
Can i show my Prof of Application if someone asks for visa?
Tricky one. If I were you I would call the swiss consulate (in portugal or turkey) and explain the situation.
I think you might have needed to apply for a transit visa, but perhaps they can let you pass with the proof of request documents, or create one quickly for urgent matters. You need to ask.
Preferably, don't ask the airline: they tend to err on the safe side and say 'no' if they are unsure.
There's usually a "return visa" for cases like this.
I got one because permit is under renewal (2-3 months) and I had to travel for work outside EU/Schengen.
Not sure if within 24 hours something can be done, but the office giving this kind of visa is the office for foreigners in Portugal. Even though there's transit through Switzerland, Swiss authorities cannot help with anything.
Maybe I misunderstood, but coming from Lisbon to Zurich he does not need a (transit) visa as he is in the Schengen area, so he won't even need to show his passport to immigration.
When he leaves from Basel if they ask he can explain and show proof. If his permit comes through when he is back in Turkey, then he should have no problem returning to Portugal.
