Weaker Swiss Franc, more expensive imports?

I hadn’t really paid attention, but CHF has been weakening against EUR, USD and GBP. Meaning that foreign purchases are getting relatively more expensive.

Today, I read that traders are using Swiss Franc instead of Japanese Yen to fund the carry trade due to lower interest, more stability and desire for Switzerland to keep value of CHF low.

We are seeing a rocket and feather event. Prices rocket up when Swissie loses value and drop like a feather (if at all) when it gains.

Don’t forget the AUD…

Still, it is a while off parity.

used to be 1to1

yes, but not for nearly 20 years…

They never really generally reduced prices as the CHF strengthened so there’s no justification for increasing them now. Bet that doesn’t stop many though.
