I normally like to sleep in, read a book, try out new recipes. This past Sunday I went to this museum with a friend, to look at some Japanese art, and really, really enjoyed it, followed by walk around the park and lunch (which turned into afternoon tea) here .
My OH is a freak for mountains and winter sports in general. While I'd rather sit in a coffee shop with a good book and I couldn't care less about the mountains, I realize that being outdoors is good for me (body and spirit), so sometimes for the peace of the household and for my own good I give in and we go hiking, or in the winter we go skiing or cross-country skiing. I refuse to go ice skating (which to me is one step below torture) but that is another option if you're into that.
I also really like going to pub quizzes (the pub in Wollishofen used to have theirs on Sunday afternoon/evening) and we usually meet on Sunday evening for our Zurich Book Club.
What else? I mean to check out this place for Sunday brunch, but haven't managed to yet. Plenty of stuff to do on Sunday, really.
Thanks for the link to that museum. I studied Japanese art for a while in college and didn't know about that exhibit until I read your post. Now I really want to see that exhibit by that (controversial) artist, Tabaimo.
I wish I could say we wake up late, make love all morning and relax the rest of the day but with two young kids....
So we wake up early (as usual) watch some cartoons all together cuddling on the couch. We prepare a big breakfast/brunch and we go for a walk, clean up, do some cooking, invite friends over, watch tv, call the family, do some Skype, prepare things for the week, take an afternoon nap, etc
Quiet? Sundays are probably the noisiest day of the week here, with the blasted church bells that they hammer away at pretty much continuously for the whole day.
you of course can add oranges, bananas and mandarines/clementines, and maybe some chocolate creme.
My brother sometimes loved this kind of Birchermüesli with lots of chocolate cream, the whole thing supplemented with cheese, sausages and a good beer
The Rietberg Museum is my favourite. And the restaurant on Allmend apparently was refurbished recently. Gone are the "Landi-Stil" chairs of 1938/39 vintage. I will give it a try later
The Rietberg Museum is not only a good and nice museum, it sits in a beautiful park. They sometimes in summer have events out in the park, which are, provided the weather is acceptable, very nice.
The place including the park was taken over by the City of Zürich after WWII, and then, with the approval of the electorate, the museum was established.
