Wow 1560 CHF a year, hardly my definition of 'Free'. Out of interest how much is your insurance premium 300 a year? of course the insurance covers fire, flood etc as well a theft.
Fair point. They also offer a bunch of other services which is why OH insisted. Anw i just told you guys what ive done. Im not 100% i was right and the only thing i can hope is that i never need it
Seriously, you can buy a very very decent alarm outright for less then half your yearly costs with this. All wireless, lots of sensors inc smoke and gas and using a pay as you go sim it will phone you and text you, and you can remote arm via texts etc and listen in etc
I wouldn't be paying 130chf per month for an alarm!!!!
Surely an engineer should be able to design a makeshift alarm system. A good-sized chunk of sodium falling into a bucket of water should put off most intruders.
I guess there is more money in robbing people at the rate of 130 a month for ever rather than actually breaking into their house and risk getting caught.
For 'advertising purposes' is the oldest trick in the book, same with half price kitchen offers. Suddenly the salesman will remember there is a block of flats with using exactly the same kitchen as you selected! If you order today, the orders can be combined for an even bigger discount..........
I was broken into recently and had some cash, watch and laptop stolen. Claimed off the insurance. There's a 200 CHF excess (and the insurance premium, but I assume you still pay that).
Unless I get broken into once every two months, it's cheaper to let them steal stuff and claim, than to have an alarm with a service contract.
Bear in mind that if someone breaks in and runs off when the alarm sounds, you'll probably still need to claim off your insurance for damage to the property caused by breaking the door/window etc. I know you've bought the alarm already, but I assume there's a cooling off period.
I hate to chime in with the others, but at 130 CHF a month, you are getting robbed...
do you know if insurance companies here can kick out out if you have too many claims? Our house was broken into 2x within 5 weeks back when I lived in Austin (probably the same guys coming back to get our new stuff ) and I got a letter from my friendly insurance company saying if it were to happen a 3rd time, I would be dropped...luckily, it didn't happen again!
