What duties and VAT can one expect to pay on an international shipment

Am planning to order something to be shipped from HK. Cost about $40. What duties and VAT can one expect to be damaged with?

PS: Not asking for a friend.

It actually depends on what it is.

Edit; not answering for a friend.

Just a few USB connectors.

40f? I wouldn’t expect any charge But the assesment is based on price plus shipping cost not exceeding f62.

16 Francs + 3% of declared value of the goods + MWST at 7.7%. There's no duty on gifts between private individuals up to 100 francs.

In your case then 20 francs 28 rappen. I think you can pay online now?

But the link above says: The maximum price for customs clearance is CHF 70. Not sure if that means the max you'll pay (which seems odd), or that if the value is less than 70 francs, they don't bother.

CHF 65, not CHF 62.

P.S. CHF 62 was when VAT was 8%.

And they say there is no inflation in Switzerland.
