what is visa sponsorship

Hi folks

I see in some job posts, they require to have a valid "work permit" and they do no offer "visa sponsorship". But for me, as a non-EU from india, how can I then have a permit beforehand? I suppose this statement means that they can only offer the job to EUs, right?

I'm in progress of applying for a job in Switerland.

Unfortunately, you cannot.

Visa sponsorship means that a company will apply for a work permit on your behalf. This can happen, however, for a Swiss company to do so, they must prove they cannot hire for the role in Switzerland or the entire EU.

Such situations are only for jobs with very very niche skills. Of course it is possible, but do not expect it to be easy.

To Swiss, EU, EFTA, foreigners with permanent residence (permit C) and all those with a Swiss work permit B which allows a change of employer.

That is in total of more than 200 Million people.
