Yeah I know, in civilized places, you can find it at any half-decent Asian store.
Btw LiB, are you back in CH? Change location?
He got fed up being laughed at for living in the country he publicly despised so much, so he faked his profile ages ago by pretending to be living in KFC country.
He actually lives in Olten and spends his days at the station train-spotting with an old laptop to post here on EF.
Passed by Asiaway yesterday and took a look, unfortunately they do not have it ...
Bump
Found rousong ! Not on its own in the plastic tubs one may know and love, but generously topping scrumptious, quite freshly baked sweet buns sold in a 3-pack at Lian Hua (Schaffhauserstr. 269, Zürich; maybe in their other location on Birmensdorferstr. as well). If you're craving that ineluctable, inimitable sweet-salty rousong flavor, these ought to hit the spot. Pic below of the packaging.
There was another rousong item when I went, essentially an oversized slab of toast bread covered with rousong and filled with a streak of buttery, slightly sweet jelly; overall too bready for my taste but worth the try. I also recommend the green-tea roll cakes and the red-date (jubube) cake sold in the same small fridge next to check-out. Those still after pure rousong could try asking Lian Hua employees where they source these pastries, then ask the source. Enjoy!
