I have had UBS and CS accounts for over 10 years. I've never had a problem with customer service. UBS's I'd say has the slight edge.
Um, maybe not even packages. We’ve had a salary account with them for years and got a mortgage and Pillar 3a acount about 6 years ago. So those sort of things seem to count too as we no longer pay for using any ATMs in Switzerland.
Do you mean that other banks have better interest rates?
You don't have to lock yourself to UBS to get 0.3% cashback, I think free credit cards from Coop or Migros also offer cashbacks of about similar size. Migros' is the more practical one - they give it in coupons directly redeemable as cash for your groceries shopping at Migros
No, interest is about same at all banks - 10-12% (legal maximum) if you miss a payment.
All else being equal, why not take the 0.3%? If the alternative is locking that credit in to ONLY Migros in the form of cash back or coupons, then... why not let your shopping at Coop give credit towards Migros and vice versa? And say... if you've just moved to Switzerland and want furniture from say... Ikea, why not let Ikea purchases go towards Credit redeemable at Migros?
Unless Migros coupons/credit from their credit card is worth more than the UBS credit? But that seems more like chasing deals than simply signing up for the UBS account.
