With your own phone on this plan you pay 15CHF a month unlimited calls to orange network and swiss fixed network plus 1GB data. Cant remember if texts are charged but data allowance is adequate to use whats app and skype so text messages are not needed. Works well when parents are on orange since calls from kids are free for them.
I prefer Swisscom - while the costs are high, you get very good reception and speeds. It's especially good for me as I am eligible for the Under 26 plan, and have NATEL Infinity M - and while that's pricey it gives everything unlimited, plus 30 Texts, 30 minutes, and 30 MB, to in/from/to the EU/USA/Canada. You're going to have to verify the in/from/to part as I'm not completely sure, but in my experience that's how it's worked.
Also, if you look in the fine print, I find Swisscom the most decent. For instance, Personal Hotspot is allowed even if you have unlimited data or prepaid at no extra cost. Also, their stores are great in number, and are at very good location. While I do live in the center, there are two Swisscom stores, that can be easily reached (without hurry), in 5 minutes (walking). Sunrise and Orange stores are farther (their are stores like mobilezone that are closer though)
