The garages people go to when buying from reifendirekt etc are fitting partners so are happy to charge a bit for that service... the fitting costs are the same as buying from them directly.
Some places will not fit tyres bought elsewhere - its their loss, ill just go to the next garage that will fit them.
BTW for those in the basel area, there is a DIY garage in weil and you can do it all yourself for about 5€ per wheel/tyre i can, but cant be bothered.
I was looking around Adliswil for a Montagepartner and the guy, when asked about buying tyres from him, suggested I should buy from Reifendirekt as they cannot beat those prices. Go figures..
If I was running a garage and did not have to deal with sourcing and invoicing but just a solid, fab service with returning customers and 100% utilisation, I'd love Reifendirekt.
Thankfully, I'm semi-retired so have to think about my garden more
This is the guy I used -- he was the cheapest by far:
As far as I can tell, his business model is exactly what you've described. He's a one-man band, and about 80% of his business comes from Reifendirekt. But it means his workshop is constantly busy, and his low rates and good reputation means that he now also gets my business for things like changing winter/summer tyres.
Those that have bought from reifendirekt and paid by credit card have you had any problems? I have tried to pay twice using different cards, the transaction screen goes thru but 5 days later they ask me to do a bank transfer. Getting slightly annoyed!
I had the same problem with the credit card (Amex) -- in the end, I used a bank transfer because it was simpler. In following transactions (Visa / MC) I haven't had a problem.
I placed an order on Friday. Got a confirmation email, but have not heard anything since. Do you get emailed when they dispatch etc, or just hear when the tyres get to the garage?
@gc2011: you will get a dispatch email with an expected delivery date. I just received my winter tyres yesterday from them 3 days ahead of schedule. Customer service was very responsive when I had questions so altogether pleasant experience.
I ordered and received the tyres from reifendirekt and have them sitting in the garage. So all good. However, I didn't realise there they had partner garages and so I have the guys from gommobil coming round on Saturday as they do it at your house. http://www.gommobil.ch/preise.html
Not sure if the price is much different as not entirely sure what each different price exactly means (looks like max 30 Fr per tyre ), but would be keen to get the lowest price next time round. So where would I find the partner garage info on the reifendirekt website? Presumably the guys who deliver from reifendirekt don't fit it as I see no mention of that in any post?
I used them and they are causing me a lot of problems.
I ordered and paid for my tyres third of january, after 6-7 phone calls and 3-4 emails.....I find out on the 18th of January by email that they are not in stock.
