amazing is that mainland Greeks use the word Mavros for Cretes .... , while North Italians talk about Calabresi, Apulians and Sicilians as "Africans" ...........
"native Africans / Moors" were people from the Maghreb, and so far "whiter" than the Hizaji "elites" from the old Koreïsh tribe
the inhabitants of North Africa were not Blacks but known for heavily black beards, while many Romans were clean shaven already. So that it had nothing to do with skin colour really.
