Why is the color different on my new B permit (non-EU)?

Hey guys,

Non-EU here who's been in Switzerland for around 2 years. Just received my (third permit / second renewal). They all have a validity of a year. The first two were pink with the "titels" as Aufenthaltsbewilligung (B) and "Mit Erwerbstaetigkeit" in the remarks. They had the Swiss emblem on it with a bull on the side and CHE on the top-right which is all pretty basic stuff.

This new one is blue with a map of Europe on it. The content is pretty much the same (CHE, etc.) but the "titels" is now "Bewilligung B" and there is a new six digit code on it. Lastly, I noticed that the alphanumeric number on the top right no longer starts with EA and starts with FA.

If it helps, I live in ZH. Is this just a regular design change?

I think it's synchronising with the EU...

Yeah, they changed from the old pink card to the new EU design in late 2020, see https://www.sem.admin.ch/dam/sem/de/...yer-aa19-d.pdf .
