The snowboarders were looking pretty cool on bbc breakfast just now.
I just went all 'techy' and looked at my signal strength on the sky box.
The bar for strength is almost completely to the right with only a tiny amount of blue showing ( which I guess makes it greater than 95%) for both inputs and the quality is just over three quarters along which I guess makes it about 80%.
It is a beautiful clear sunny day today so I guess that helps
We've never lost C5 at any time of the day ( actually I usually only watch it in the evening so not so sure about daytime) so I'm hopeful that we won't have any issues with the other channels.
The only time we lose signal is if there's a really bad storm and then it's pretty uniform across all channels.
A better receiver might help if the additional signal needed is marginal. I'm very undecided on whether to test this out though. Not sure how you find out which are "better" though.
when we needed an lnb with more ports I got one the shop recommended, it had a lower something or other, and the signal quality went up, we stopped losing C5 in the evenings, so it did seem to do something
The changeover has already happened in the early hours of this morning, according to the website. I haven't noticed any change when watching via my Sky digibox with a Freesat card.
Up in Zumikon we have lost BBC1, 2 and 4 but retain 3. The radio signal has weakened as well Not looking forward to a further death of ITV etc as predicted life without Storage Wars seems tough :
Yupp. Or maybe you just need to fine tune the alignment a little.
Ours just West of Basel is still working fine on all channels, and TBH I'd trade the red button for the auto 24-hour replay functionality we get with our Swisscom box/sub in t'other place.
Did a quick check yesterday evening and all my channels are still working (canton FR)!
About 50% of the telly we watch at the moment is "catch-up" on the iplayer via my private VPS (£1.50 per month), so losing "live" broadcasting would only really hurt for 6N matches!
I lost all the BBC TV and radio channels yesterday here in Zürich. I've got an 88cm dish on my balcony which has worked perfectly for the last 6 years. Some forums are saying I will need a 1.2m dish now but Im not convinced yet. Most of the the other UK channels are also moving to Astra 2E so I think they will also stop working soon too.
